How to use Picasa for Mac

Picasa is a free Google product, is a software to view, process, share (web, email and print) and modern image file management and convenience. Picasa with Google's search and indexing techniques, your digital photographs scattered throughout your computer makes it easy to manage and share. Moreover completely free.

Picasa does not store any images that simply scan your hard drive and display image files that it finds. In this way, the Picasa folders represent the actual folder containing pictures on your computer's hard drive.

If you have made edits in iPhoto, each album or event in your iPhoto Library folder contains a "Originals" (root) directory and "Modified" (change directory).

Picasa will scan the photos and videos in both folders, and show a general directory with the latest version of each file.
